Dr. Rahul Sambaraju

I am a social scientist with expertise in diversity science, psychological research methods, and social interaction. I examine our practices of identity construction and negotiation, categorization, and the consequences of these for our everyday lives. I focus on the importance of treating individuals as members in social groups and categories, by themselves or others, for outcomes in employment, education, and health.

My work then examines topics of migration and refuge-seeking, race and racism, and gender/sex-based exclusion. I work across nations and continents: Europe, India, the United States, and so on.

I actively publish in leading academic journals and write for media outlets.
